I would like you to know how sad I feel at his passing. John travelled from Kendal with Eric Webb and myself to the BAe reunion dinners in the Fylde during the last few years. He was always cheerful and good company, despite his health problems. It makes me realise how we are all getting older. I first met John nearly 50 years ago when I joined the company. We had adjacent desks in the Aerodynamics Office and I got to know him quite well at that time.

Please accept my sincere condolences and I hope the funeral in Edinburgh is a happy celebration of his life.
