I am saddened to receive your news. I liked your Dad hugely and had enormous respect for his extensive knowledge, quiet professionalism and sheer cleverness! He really was a key member of my “team” and someone I could discuss the wackiest of ideas with. I’m glad I kept him excited these last few years, and like to think he was a Pal. We are hopeful our project will continue one way or another, and John’s experience, inventiveness and wise counsel will be sorely missed.

I had no idea he was a twin! I was born and brought up in Edinburgh too, as you may know but, sadly, Edinburgh on the 22nd isn’t going to be possible for me Helen. I will be thinking of him then, though, as I am now.

I lost my Dad 10 months ago, again not unexpectedly, so I know where you are. Please accept my warm condolences.
