Very sad news indeed.
I spent many happy hours talking & learning from John, and I did
learn a great deal, pure gold. He was
erudite & immensely thoughtful. I
still have a copy of his PhD thesis that I turn to whenever my understanding of
handling qualities becomes blurred. I
have fond memories of the Fly By Wire Jaguar, an aircraft with transformed
handling qualities appreciated by all the pilots who flew it.
